Hortulus Farm is a hundred acre, 18th Century
farmstead and nursery operation, situated amidst the beautiful, rolling hills of historic Bucks County, PA and a member of the Greater Philadelphia Gardens Cooperative. Created and owned by world-famous garden and event designer Renny Reynolds and noted garden writer and author Jack Staub, Hortulus Farm has been called both "a garden of world-class charm" and "one of Pennsylvania's secret treasures". In 2000, the Hortulus Farm Foundation was created to insure that this distinguished property will continue to exist as a public garden and horticultural study center in perpetuity. The gardens and museum at Hortulus Farm are open for tours from May to October as well as for location shooting for photography or film year round.
Hortulus Farm Nursery, a small,
specialty "connoisseur's nursery", offers the rare and unusual in every category, each variety we carry personally chosen by Renny Reynolds and Jack Staub for its outstanding beauty and performance. Our ever-changing stock includes tropicals, standards, espaliers, topiaries, and a superb collection of hard-to-find perennials, shrubs, heirloom vegetables, and annuals, many of which can be viewed in situ in our gardens. If you are underwhelmed by the plant choices available to you at your local garden center, please do come pay us a visit: we guarantee a cultivar that's sure to delight. Hortulus Museum
was founded in 2005 as a public showplace for the owners' collection of Bucks County Impressionist paintings, as well as other notable artifacts and collections. The Museum Collection, begun in 1985, now totals 38 paintings and works on paper by such celebrated local artists as Edward Redfield, George Sotter, William Lathrop, Fern Coppedge, and Daniel Garber. Also notable are the owners' horticultural library of almost 1,000 garden books, as well as collections of antique garden tools, statuary, and garden letters. The Museum is open to groups of 8 or more by appointment and may be added to your garden tour.
